Robes, symbols and talismans
Insignia. The names of her children and grandchildren. Her two rescue dogs. Wildflowers, daisy chains, celandine and scarlet pimpernel, as a testimony to the King and hers love for nature. A rose, a thistle, a daffodil and a shamrock, representing the four nations composing the United Kingdom. These and more were embroidered on Queen Camilla’s ceremonial dress on the day of her crowning.
Is that weird?
Here is the invitation to the King’s crowning.
And the one addressed to him, for Queen Elizabeth II crowning.
The full lore, including the Green Man, dragons and oak leaves, a Greek column and a unicorn, among others.
Is it still strange? Let’s see. Do you wear a bracelet with your kids’ names? Do you have a happy dress, in which you feel like a queen? You quite probably wear a ring, wedding, engagement, or as in my case, the ring my father offered me just so, a few years ago. Biblical figures Joseph, Daniel, and the prodigal son were given rings as symbols of authority, blessing and power.
It may also be that you have on your desk a crystal or gemstones. Since times immemorial particular benefits were linked to specific stones that are said to help people focus on a specific need and strengthen their ability to achieve their goals.
Myths and legends speak of the long line of people who, in times past, conversed with the Divine in the silence of a planet less corrupt, where people lived closer to Nature and the Divine.
Symbols are powerful. Kings, gods, businessmen and politicians know it too well. Combined with explicit desire, symbols are key to our spiritual path. Colour, such as the colour red for fertility and wealth, black for mourning and white for weddings; objects, such as crosses and evil eye; number sequences; animal representations such as eagles, pigeons, elephants, owls and turtles, form a language that Nature/the Universe/God use to convey messages unique to our needs, if only we pay attention. By being purposeful and gently harnessing their power, we acknowledge the presence of the Sacred in our lives. It is a form of innate knowledge that people use even when they are not fully aware of their meaning. By attaching a symbol or a talisman as Queen Camilla did to her dress, we attach upon ourselves the creative force that brings harmony and peace to the universe and to us, as part of the cosmos.
Symbols and talismans represent desires, intentions and purposes set to overcome our fears as well as aspects of our souls that have remained unknown or hidden and which seek to be expressed and fulfilled. They quiet the mind’s constant chatter and restore confidence in the purpose and benevolence of life.
What symbols, colours, animals, stones, talk to you and resonate with you?
In the coming week, pay attention to your surroundings. By becoming conscious of what attracts you and by understanding its significance for your mind and soul, you help unlock your inner world and open a door to the manifestation of your desires.
This month I am opening two spots for 1:1 mentorship. If you want to explore your desires, your fears and gifts, and set yourself for a new beginning, contact me. If we are a match, I will be glad to help you reach for the life you desire.
